This Privacy Policy explains what information JAVSnap.com (the "Site", "we") collects when you use the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have. You can browse the Site without an account, and in that case we collect very little about you.
1. Information we collect
When you create an account
- Email sign-up: your name, email address and a password. We store only a secure hash of the password, never the password itself.
- Google sign-in: the name, email address and profile picture that Google shares with us. We do not receive your Google password.
When you use your account
- The titles you add to your watchlist, the playlists you create and their privacy setting.
- Comments, likes and content reports you submit.
Collected automatically
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type and the pages you visit, recorded in server logs and used for security and troubleshooting.
- Anonymous view counts for each title, which we use to rank popular videos. These counts are not linked to your identity.
- Usage statistics collected by Google Analytics (see section 3).
2. How we use information
- To run your account and its features: signing in, the watchlist, playlists and comments.
- To send account emails, such as email verification and password reset. We do not send marketing emails.
- To keep the Site secure: preventing spam, abuse and automated attacks, and enforcing rate limits.
- To understand how the Site is used and to improve it.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and browser storage items:
- Session cookie (essential): keeps you signed in and protects forms against forgery. It is only set when you sign in or submit a form, and it ends when you sign out.
- Preferences (functional): remembers choices such as having closed the cookie notice. This is stored in your own browser.
- Google Analytics (analytics): sets cookies that help us count visits and see which pages are popular. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Cloudflare (security): our network provider may set cookies to detect bots and protect the Site. Its sign-in and comment checks (Turnstile) work the same way.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the session cookie, you will not be able to sign in.
4. Third parties
We share information only with providers that help us run the Site, and only as much as they need: our hosting and network provider (Cloudflare), Google (sign-in and analytics) and our email delivery service. Video players and download links on the Site are provided by third-party hosts. When you open them, those hosts may collect data and set their own cookies under their own policies, which we do not control.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the Site.
5. Data retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security purposes. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data unless we are required to keep it by law.
6. Security
We use HTTPS, hashed passwords and access controls to protect your data. No online service can be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to object to how we use it. You can change your name and password on your profile page at any time. For any other request, including deleting your account, contact us at the address below.
8. Adults only
The Site is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
10. Contact
